By air: The nearest international airport is Rome Fiumicino

Castel dell'Aquila is about an hour's drive from Rome. (Or you can 

go by train from Rome to Orte.)

By train: The nearest railway station is Orte, on the main Rome - Florence line.  The fast 

train to/from Rome takes 34 minutes, the slow train takes 45 minutes. You can leave your car

at the train station and travel to and from the apartments by taxi or bus.

By car from Rome (69 miles/111 km): Take the A1 north towards ORTE/TERNI/

PERUGIA. Take the E45 towards TODI/PERUGIA. Take the Montecastrilli exit, then follow 

signs for Castel dell'Aquila. (It takes about an hour).

By car from Florence (133 miles/214 km): Take the A1 south towards AREZZO. 

Follow signs for PERUGIA/ASSISI. After Perugia, take the E45 towards TERNI/ROME.

Take the Montecastrilli exit, then follow signs for Castel dell'Aquila. (It takes

about 2 1/2 hours).
